Registration Requirements

A Registrable Property is any real property that:

  • Is encumbered by a mortgage in default;

  • Is the subject of a foreclosure action;

  • Has a foreclosure judgment but has not yet been sold; or

  • Has been transferred to a mortgagee or affiliated entity via foreclosure sale or deed in lieu.

Registration

  • Registration is required within 10 days of declaring mortgage in default.

  • Each parcel requires a separate registration.

  • Registration information must be updated within 10 days of any change.

Renewal

  • Registrations must be renewed annually, measured from the initial default date.

OMT Update

  • OMT changes do not require a new registration but must be updated within 10 days.

Property Manager

  • If the property is vacant, a property manager must be designated.

  • A 24-hour contact telephone number is required.

Fee Exemptions

  • Governmental entities must register but are exempt from registration fees.

  • Governmental entities include HUD, VA, and USDA mortgagees or owners.

Signage

  • Vacant properties must post signage visible from the street.

  • Size:  18 x 24 inches

  • Sign must include:

    • Property manager name;

    • 24-hour telephone number; and

    • Email address.

  • Exterior signage must be weather‑resistant.

Registration Requirements

In this jurisdiction, any owner of Vacant Property is required to register the property. Vacant Property is considered any parcel of land that contains any building or structure that is not lawfully occupied..

Vacant Lots are not required to be registered.
