Registration Requirements

A Registrable Property is any Residential real property that:

  • Is encumbered by a mortgage in default;

  • Is the subject of a foreclosure action;

  • Has a foreclosure judgment but has not yet been sold; or

  • Has been transferred to a mortgagee or affiliated entity via foreclosure sale or deed in lieu.

Registration

  • Registration is required within 10 days of declaring mortgage in default.

  • Each parcel requires a separate registration.

  • Registration information must be updated within 10 days of any change.

  • Registration applies only to Residential properties. Vacant lots need not register.

Renewal

  • Registrations must be renewed every six (6) months, measured from the initial default date.

Property Manager

  • If the property is vacant, a property manager must be designated.

  • A 24-hour contact telephone number is required.

Late fees

  • A late fee of 10% of the registration fee is added if the registration fee is not paid within 30 days of the start of the registration period.

Registration Requirements

In this jurisdiction, any owner of Vacant Property is required to register the property. Vacant Property is considered to be a single-family residence, residential condominium, residential townhouse, or other building containing one or more dwelling units when one or more of the dwelling units has been vacant for over 60 days; or

A single-family residence, residential condominium, residential townhouse, or other building containing one or more dwelling units when natural gas or electric service has been terminated for more than 48 hours.

Vacant Lots are not required to be registered.
