Registration Requirements and Renewal
In this jurisdiction, any Owner of Vacant Property is required to register the property. Vacant Property is considered any parcel of land that contains any building or structure that is not lawfully occupied as follows:
Residential structures unoccupied for 90 days
Multi-family residential structures unoccupied for 60 days
Commercial structures unoccupied for 30 days
FNMA and FHLMC are exempt from registration
"Owner" includes mortgagees of a property in default, in foreclosure, or REO.
Vacant Lots are not required to be registered.
Renewal is required annually as long as the property is vacant.
Property Manager
If the property is vacant, a property manager must be designated.
A 24-hour contact telephone number is required.

Property Manager / Authorized Agent (within State of Ohio)
Registrations must include the name and telephone number of a person twenty-one years of age or older, designated by the owner as the authorized agent for receiving notices of code violations and for receiving process in any court proceeding or administrative enforcement proceeding on behalf of such owner in connection with the enforcement of this chapter. This person must maintain an office in Ohio or must reside within 250 miles of 76 East High Street, Springfield, Ohio. Please use the Property Manager section for this information.
